Danell Lynn was born on August 28th, as the youngest of three children. Pictured above in a garment her mother made for her (and photographed), she was introduced early to construction, art and culture. Being surrounded by garments, made specific for one person, one fit, it is obvious where the love of fashion and couture construction came from.
Starting secondary school in England and living in a home where travel was/is important, Danell quickly found herself in Paris, London, Spain, Turkey, etc... many countries to fill her ever yearning well of culture. Surrounded by cutting edge fashion and art it was difficult being moved to Abilene, Texas to finish high school. She left at 18 to pursue her dreams. She attended Miami International University of Art and Design in Miami, FL and graduated with honors, Delta Epsilon Iota. Graduating with a degree in Fashion Design she has been actively chasing her dream of a Haute Couture House since.
Soon after her arrival to Miami she thrust herself into learning, experiencing and developing workmanship of tailoring. Working at fashion shows, carrying with her ethics and determination, she was offered an apprenticeship with Gerry Kelly Couture. This later turned into an assistant designer's position with his couture house, under designer Tammy Apostel.
She has assisted in Fashion shows for Oscar De La Renta, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klien, Marc Jacobs, Badgley Michka, Nautica St. John and more. She was the assistant coordinator for the International Hispanic Designer's Gala, 2002.
Danell Lynn is a drapery designer working on a form before the pattern is created. Danell is the couturier: the designer, the pattern maker, seamstress, and hand pick all her fabrics for all garments. (Getting to enjoy her love of travel as she hand selects each fabric from many countries) She is a Fine Artist as a painter and a Designer for dl-couture; they seem to go hand in hand. Much of her artwork is inspired by fashion and vise-versa. (www.dlfineartist.com)

With a life of travel and experiences of many cultures it was important to Danell that her work reflects this love. She is not only a couture designer but a supporter and advocate of humanitarian aid. With "Threading Hope" she provides direct aid to those in need. Also a portion of the proceeds from all garments made and ordered go to help underserved children and families in need, through non-profits that Danell has worked with and researched to be sure that the money goes directly to those who truly need it.
